The problem

You have lived this before.

A brief lands in your inbox.

You spend days pulling the real requirements out of half-answers and meeting notes.

Then the writing starts. The business case. The spec. The stories. The revisions. The stakeholder feedback. The version everyone swears they sent.

Weeks disappear, and you are still documenting instead of delivering.

Skemia gives those weeks back.

From the founder

Naseem Terblanche, founder of Skemia

For years I watched good analysts, myself included, lose weeks of every project to writing, reformatting, and chasing sign-off, instead of solving the actual business problem. Skemia is the tool I wished I had on every project. It follows the way real BAs work, from the first meeting to a delivery-ready backlog, and gives those weeks back. I built it for the way you already work.

Why Skemia is different

Most tools help you write documents. Skemia helps you deliver projects.

You set your project context once, then work the way experienced business analysts actually do: turn meetings into requirements, then generate the business case, the functional spec and data model, user stories, and wireframes. Every document comes from that one context and stays connected by traceability, so nothing is retyped and nothing drifts. Change something once and the whole chain stays in sync.

How it works

From raw notes to a delivery-ready backlog.

Six steps, in the order real BA work runs. Follow them start to finish, or jump to whatever the project needs.

1

Set your project context, once

Capture the problem, objectives, scope, stakeholders, assumptions, and constraints. Everything else builds on this.

2

Turn meetings into requirements

Paste your workshop or interview notes and Skemia pulls out the requirements, decisions, risks, and actions to review and file.

3

Generate the core documents

From that one context: a business case, a functional spec with a data model, and INVEST user stories. In any order you like.

  • Business case
  • Functional spec + data model
  • INVEST user stories
  • Grayscale wireframes
4

Manage the requirements

A living requirements register, traceability from requirement to story, and an AI quality check that flags gaps and ambiguity.

5

Track risks and change

Log risks and issues in RAID, and raise a change to have Skemia draft the amendment and impact, versioned with a full audit trail.

6

Sign off and export

Each document ends with a sign-off section listing your approvers. Export any document to Word or PDF, structure intact.

Meeting notes to requirements

Paste raw workshop or interview notes and Skemia pulls out the requirements, decisions, risks, and actions for you to review and file.

Business case

A board-ready business case in minutes: executive summary, options analysis, financials, risks, and a clear recommendation, all from your context.

Functional spec + data model

A structured specification with a full data model. Skemia asks the right questions when your input is thin, so nothing important slips.

INVEST user stories

Development-ready stories with roles, value, and acceptance criteria, grouped by role and written to the INVEST standard.

Requirements + traceability

A living requirements register that stays linked from requirement to user story, so coverage is clear and nothing quietly falls through.

Quality review

An AI review of your requirements and stories that flags ambiguity, gaps, duplicates, and untestable statements, with fixes you can apply.

Change management

Log a change or a missed requirement and Skemia drafts the amendment and impact, re-versions the spec, and keeps a complete audit trail.

Your BA assistant

An assistant that knows your project. Ask it anything, or tell it to write a document, draw a diagram, or critique your draft.

Grayscale wireframes

Low-fidelity screens on demand for the stories that need them, so stakeholders can see it before anyone builds it.

Editing + version history

Edit any document in place, keep every version, and roll back to an earlier one whenever you need to.

Word + PDF export

Export any document to Word or PDF, structure and headings intact, ready for governance or your project team.

Team workspaces

Share one workspace where everyone sees every project, with simple per-seat billing.

Questions

Before you start.

Will I have to rewrite everything it generates?

No. Skemia produces a professional first draft built on BA best practice, not a rough sketch. Most users refine the wording and add detail rather than starting over. You can edit any document in place and regenerate any section you want to improve.

Is my project data private and secure?

Yes. Your projects are private to your workspace, access is controlled, and your content is never sold or used to train public models. Your confidential client work stays yours.

Can stakeholders review without an account?

Yes. You invite stakeholders by email and they open the document through a secure read-only link, with no account or software to install. Sign-off lives in the document itself: you set the approvers and Skemia adds a sign-off section for them, so approval is recorded where the decision belongs.

Can I edit the documents, or am I stuck with what is generated?

You can edit everything. Change any text in place, keep a full version history, and roll back to an earlier version whenever you need to.

What happens when my free trial ends?

After seven days you choose a plan to keep full access. Nothing is charged automatically, and we never ask for a card to start the trial.

Spend less time documenting. More time delivering.

Create your account and turn your first project into a full set of documents in minutes. No card required to start.
